Board service is meaningful but manageable:

  • 4 quarterly board meetings β€” 2–3 hours each
  • Committee participation β€” 2–4 hours/month
  • Event support β€” 2–3 events annually
  • Preparation β€” Board materials & strategic documents

We're flexible: If your schedule changes, let's talk. We work with board members to find solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Governance: Ensure legal compliance and fiduciary duty
  • Strategy: Help set and advance our strategic plan
  • Financial oversight: Review budgets and financial health
  • Fundraising: Make personal gift and cultivate relationships
  • Committee work: Dive deep into one area of focus
  • Community representation: Serve as ambassador for BGS

Term Duration: 2 Years (Renewable)

Standard service: 2-year term, renewable for one additional term (4 years maximum).

What We Provide

  • Mentorship & onboarding: Dedicated orientation and support
  • Resources & training: Board handbook and best practices
  • Professional development: Access to trainings and workshops
  • Community: Meaningful relationships with passionate leaders
  • Impact visibility: See how your contribution shapes green space

Financial Giving: At Your Level

There is no mandatory minimum. We believe board service should be accessible to everyone.

Make an annual gift at whatever level feels meaningfulβ€”$100, $1,000, or $10,000. Size matters less than demonstrating personal commitment to our mission.

Additionally, support fundraising through relationships, events, or volunteer work.
